After designing, building and shaping my own powdersurf board I’ve been waiting the whole summer to finally test it out. The week winter finally arrived with more then 100cm’s of new snow on the Kitzsteinhorn the wait was over! Time for a hike and some powdersurfing!

Sometimes it takes a lot time, effort and different equipment to shred new lines. Together with friends Stephan en Rens, mission Jägerscharte covers a first descent around Martin’s hometown in the Austrian Alps.

Getting fit for the winter season and recovering from my thyroid surgery, I rode up the Maiskogel towards Saulochalm. From there towards Maiskogelalm, where Wanderweg 35 – the former worldcup trail – takes you down the entire way to the town of Kaprun.

This video shows the entire trail.

Taking my splitboard out for a small tour in Switzerland onto the Bürgle. So many nice descends are possible from this summit – I chose this couloir.

A short impression of the first Jones Snowboards European Splitfest around the Lizumer Hütte in Austria. Two days of skinning and riding, skinning and riding, skinning and riding, skinning and riding and skinning on our splitboards in great powder conditions. Stoked!

Riding some nice lines in Kaprun with my brother Martin on our days off.

Erwin, Martin and Gina riding the “Linke Rinne”. Snow was perfect – hard but grippy – and the weather could not have been better. After riding 500 vertical meters in the couloir, there were still another 1000 meters left to descend.
